Elevate Your Life: Upgrade Your Indoor Air Quality
I work with many clients with breathing issues.
A simple and effective life upgrade is to improve the air quality inside your home. This can help with other issues such as snoring and insomnia, and even help prevent cancer! I have even had clients lose half-a-stone, as their inflammation levels have plummeted after addressing the below.
Our houses can be very toxic. Even if you live on the most disgusting and polluted road in your country (imagine!), your flat or house would likely be sixty times more polluted.
Crazy!
So please, please think about putting some of the below into practice. This can be life-changing:
Use a hepa filtered vacuum cleaner and use it at least once a week. I recommend https://www.miele.co.uk/product/12652230/cylinder-vacuum-cleaner-guard-l1-allergy-brilliant-white.
Dust weekly. Dust is carcinogenic.Get an air scrubber. I recommend https://jaspr.co/products/jaspr-pro. Ideally one in your bedroom and one in the kitchen. REALLY DO GET AN AIR SCRUBBER, START SAVING!
Open your windows for an hour a day.
`Get rid of carpets and curtains.
If you have a conventional mattress, this needs to be regularly hoovered and steam cleaned. Wash pillows and duvets regularly, I recommend an organic shiki futon mattress on pesticide free tatami matts.
Have hydroponic plants in your house (soil can get contaminated, so best without)- For examples see https://plantpurify.com/soilless-medium-air-purifying-plants/
When. you cook, open the windows and use fans. Same with bathing in the bathroom.
If there is mould or damp in your house, dig deep deal with it. Use dehumidifiers if necessary. Turning up the heating and opening windows can help.
Use organic paints and non-toxic household cleaners.
Don’t have wifi in your property (this is believed to grow mould)- use ethernet cables instead.
Put a chlorine filter on your shower. https://www.berkeywaterfilterseurope.co.uk/berkey-shower-filter
No shoes inside.
Avoid plastics in your house. Most plastic shedding will be FROM YOUR CLOTHES. Avoid synthetic fabrics,
Avoid nail polish and nail polish remover. Avoid scents (including the very posh ones!), most candles (beeswax is OK) and air freshners.
Obviously, no smoking!
