Can you help me lose weight?
The short answer- yes!
Weight loss in our society is linked with all sorts of negatives- sexism, racism, eating disorders etc.
But it was seeing the health and happiness of my now deceased PUG DOG! completely transform after she lost weight that I became passionate about helping those with weight struggles.
Losing weight isn’t exactly what most people really want (although it’s our cultural shorthand)- what we want to do is burn fat and increase muscle.
Lipolysis is the metabolic process your body uses to break down stored fats into usable energy.
Hypertrophy is increasing muscle size through exercise.
It’s challenging to do both at once. GLP-1 agonists unfortunately cause the loss of both fat and muscle. So do many diets.
We also want to be able to reach our natural body size without feeling restricted. The huge success of GLP-1 agonists is because they act like ‘injectable will power’ and people no longer need to struggle with restriction.
We also don’t want to develop obsessional exercise habits.
